My favorite things, the family member my cat hates, and ulterior motives at Barnes and Noble.

This is what I look like. Correction: this is an image I chose to show you. It is unedited. It is carefully angled to me make me look thinner.

Pumpkin spice and animal rights - these are a few (well, two) of my favorite things. I apologize if that song is in your head now.

Today I woke up at 6:30am after nodding off around 2:45am. I’ve been having trouble sleeping lately, though not to an extreme degree. I had to pick my mom and brother up from the car dealership where she was having some repairs done. My mom hung out at my house while she waited and gardened. I watched my brother. Mutual appreciation.

Mallory Pancakes - let’s just say it - cannot stand my brother Miles. He’s loud and occasionally intrusive on her space. Also semi unpredictable. At least by cat standards. He doesn’t harm her or vice versa - they just avoid each other.

Rapid gear shift - A few months ago when my article was supposed to be published in issue 16 of Oh Reader, Barnes and Noble Richardson was supposed to feature me on their Instagram. An employee offered! I didn’t hustle around obnoxiously for this. I still remember her name. I’m thinking of going back and looking into it again but I’m so damn shy. This may be my project today though. To lurk and hope I can maneuver it into a conversation again? I hope that employee still works there.

But for now… it may be naptime. Or cat snuggle time. We’ll just see, my darlings. We’ll see.
